In the neighborhood
Located in Montgomery County, Upper Dublin was established in 1701, when William Penn ordered a survey of all townships in the Commonwealth of PA. Prior to the 1950s, Upper Dublin was mostly farmland and open space, but became a sought-after residential suburb during the postwar population boom. Today, those that live in Upper Dublin enjoy a spread-out, suburban feel, and there are many restaurants, cafes, shopping destinations and parks. It is not uncommon for generations of close-knit families to live near each other in this township which has a welcoming, familiar, hometown feel. Upper Dublin includes Abington, parts of Ambler, Ardsley, Dresher, Fort Washington, Jerrettown, Maple Glen, North Hills, Oreland and Willow Grove.
